Weed Eater 12-Inch 3.75 Amp Quick Snap Head Electric String Trimmer #RT112C
Customer Review: Would not hesitate to buy from this company again
I recently bought a weed eater and was very pleased with the service. The product was received within days, boxed very well with instruction book and works unbelievably great. My husband purchased a gas one and assured me I would love it. I hated it. The weed eater I purchased is electric and lightweight. Now he keeps trying to use the one I bought.
Customer Review: Great Product
For the price this is a great buy. It gets the job done and then more. Do yourself a favor and purchase this item.

Troy-Bilt 17-Inch 31cc 2-Cycle Clutched Gas Powered Straight Shaft String Trimmer #TB90BC
When it's time to replace the line, the featured SpeedSpool line replacement system is exceptionally easy to load and rewind, all without removing the spool or taking it apart. The entire trimmer feels exceptionally balanced and comfortable in the hand, and the ergonomic soft-grip D-shaped handle easily adjusts for both right and left-handed users. The trimmer's engine and upper handle is compatible with other Troy-Bilt EZ-Link attachments (sold separately), a feature that allows you to turn your trimmer into an edger, cultivator, hedge trimmer, blower, or pole saw. The trimmer comes with all the necessary oil for immediate operation, and is covered by a 2-year limited warranty.
Customer Review: Cuts Well/Dies Quickly
It's been one year and I'm on my second unit (first one was replace by Lowes) and now my current one is in the shop getting the carb rebuilt. It had about 4 tanks of gas run through it before its untimely demise and was stored EMPTY over the winter. My local service center AND Troy-Bilt say that additives in the gasoline (alcohols etc) caused the issue. This seems suspicious, but even if this is the case I would expect to get a bit more life out of the trimmer before a carb rebuild is necessary. Both parties are telling me I may need a carb rebuild every year! I'm considering cutting my losses at this point and buying a Stihl instead.
Customer Review: Looks good, but not worth it, not even slightly
I bought this product from Lowe's. I used it for about 15 minutes with the string head and was very impressed, right up until the moment that it died and would not restart. I took it back to the store, where they gave me a refund, no questions asked. I was hoping that the extra $$ compared to my previous Homelite would get me a quality product. It didn't. Based on my experience, and on the other reviews, I don't think that I will be buying Troy-Bilt again.

Power Glide Cordless String Trimmer (60101391)
Customer Review: do not bother, you'll only get mad
i got the electric Power Glide, so i don't even have the troubles of a dead battery.. the thing is a piece of junk... first time review ever.. but i had to tell, this is just not a good piece of equipment..
Customer Review: Not bad for small jobs.
Bought this one for only $20 on sale at Ace Hardware with the intention it would be for quick jobs - and that is what it is good for. If you have a little bit to whack here and there, this will do the job. I get about 10 minutes of time out of a charge on the battery. This is a very light-duty weed wacker for small jobs. It works pretty well. Though I don't think I'd pay much more than $35 for it. Just my 2 cents.

Sunlawn 9-Inch 12 Volt Cordless Electric String Trimmer #BTE-1
Customer Review: DO NOT BUY SUNLAWN PRODUCTS
SUNLAWN HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS & IS NOT HONORING THEIR WARRANTIES. IVE HAD THE SAME PART BREAK TWICE IN ONE YEAR. AVOID SUNLAWN PRODUCTS
Customer Review: Don't bother
The separate, shoulder-mounted battery is great, making the hand-held part as light as most plug-in electric trimmers. It seems to have a bit more torque than the cheapo plug-in trimmer I had before, though not enough to consider it professional-grade, by any means. Battery life is enough to edge a very small southern-california postage-stamp-sized yard (maybe a few hundred linear feet of edging). The problem I've encountered is that, while the cutting cord will spin freely when the trimmer is not actively trimming, when I start to trim, the cord is deflected into the top of the safety cover, chopping the cord to a length of about 2 inches -- rendering it too short to cut effectively or to "self-feed" to the proper length by the usual method of tapping the spinning head on the ground. I ended up having to stop every few feet to manually pull out more string. I have found that this problem can be overcome by removing the safety cover entirely, but of course this is highly inadvisable, and I am certainly not suggesting that you do so. If not for the finicky relationship between the cutting cord and the safety cover, I would have rated this trimmer with 5 stars instead of 2. 2-MONTH UPDATE (June, 2009): After a handful of charge/discharce cycles, battery life has decreased to less than a minute. After a full 12 hours of charging, the trimmer will spin fast enough to cut for a few seconds, and then slows to a low RPM that can't cut. This, despite the manual saying the lead-acid battery does not develop a memory. Revise rating to zero stars.
